Participants receive two sets of injection molded ISO Type 1A (4mm x 10mm x 170mm) bars. CTS selects different polymers for each round of testing. Many of the materials used will break before 100% elongation is reached; however, CTS cannot guarantee that all materials will rupture at a specified elongation. Participants test these samples using ISO Test method 527.
Laboratories may report a number of properties including: Tensile Stress at Yield, Tensile Stress at Break, Percent Elongation at Yield, and Modulus of Elasticity.
