For each cycle participants receive two slightly different plain plug gages. The sizes of the samples provided are chosen to be in the range of interest to most fastener manufacturers.
This analysis is suitable for participants who make dimensional measurements with uncertainties that are not significantly smaller than 0.0001", as calculated per ISO GUM.
Laboratories must report the Outside Diameter of the plug gages and the Expanded Uncertainty calculated per ISO GUM with k=2 or similar method.
