Participants die out standard dumbbells (no rings) from two formulations of vulcanized rubber supplied in the shape of two 6" x 6" plaques for each formulation.
Laboratories may report a number of properties including: Tensile Strength, Ultimate Elongation, Stress at 100% / 300% Elongation, Type A Hardness, and Density. ASTM Test Method D412 is used for tensile properties, ASTM D2240 is used for hardness, and ASTM D297 is used for density.
