Participants receive two sets of injection molded Type 1 tensile bars. CTS chooses different polymers for testing each round. Many of the materials used will break before 100% elongation is reached; however, CTS cannot guarantee that all materials will rupture at a specified elongation. ASTM Test Method D638 is referenced.
Laboratories may report any or all of the following properties: Tensile stress at yield, Tensile Stress at Break, Percent Elongation at Yield, and Modulus of Elasticity.
